pMad, Big Generator, & The Greeting
The Greeting is a dynamic musical collaboration born from the creative minds of Paul Dillon, known for his solo project pMad, and Liam Martin, a member of the rock powerhouse Big Generator. Based in Galway/Clare, Ireland, The Greeting fuses the moody, introspective atmospheres of pMad’s post-punk sound with the high-energy, guitar-driven rock that Big Generator has been delivering for decades. The result is a captivating blend of grunge and indie rock, a sound that evokes the raw emotion of 90s alt-rock while staying fresh and relevant to today’s music scene.
pMad (Paul Dillon) has built a reputation for creating dark, atmospheric tracks that explore the complexities of the human experience. With a unique style that draws from post-punk, goth rock, and industrial influences, pMad’s music often delves into deep, introspective themes. His solo work has been critically acclaimed, garnering a dedicated following across Ireland and beyond. Liam Martin’s Big Generator, on the other hand, has spent years touring internationally, delivering arena-worthy rock anthems with a blend of classic and contemporary rock influences. Big Generator’s sound is bold, loud, and built to move crowds, making them a staple in Ireland’s rock scene.
Together as The Greeting, Dillon and Martin explore new sonic territory, combining their unique musical styles to create something that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. Their debut single ‘Need’ was a powerful introduction to this new project, and now, with the release of their second single ‘Over’, the band is poised to make an even bigger impact. ‘Over’ is an anthem for moving on from the negativity in life – a grunge-fueled expression of resilience, contentment, and the refusal to let hate win.
The Greeting’s highly anticipated debut album is slated for release in 2025, and fans of bands like Nirvana, The Pixies, and Radiohead will find plenty to love in their mix of gritty riffs, introspective lyrics, and infectious melodies. Whether through pMad’s haunting soundscapes or Big Generator’s arena-shaking rock, The Greeting offers a sonic experience that is as thought-provoking as it is explosive.
